About

Independent studios, one table.

A holding for independent creative studios. It takes a stake. It does not take control.

Each studio keeps its name, its clients and its people. Together they share capital, briefs, rooms, tools and one calendar. Founded in Milan in 2023 as April Holding; renamed Twelve, first in digits, now in letters.

The charter

Twelve articles. What every studio signs when it takes a seat.

  1. Art. 01

    A stake, not control.

Twelve holds a share of each studio. Decisions stay with the people who run it.

  2. Art. 02

    Every studio keeps its name.

No group brand on the door. Twelve is the table, not the sign.

  3. Art. 03

Clients stay where they were earned.

A studio's relationships remain its own.

  4. Art. 04

Briefs come to the table first.

A brief that needs more than one craft is shared before it goes outside.

  5. Art. 05

    Preferential, never exclusive.

Studios choose each other first, and remain free to choose otherwise.

  6. Art. 06

    Rates are agreed once.

Work between studios runs on a written rate card, not on favours.

  7. Art. 07

    One calendar.

Shoots, openings, lectures and tenders, visible to every member.

  8. Art. 08

    Rooms are shared.

Studios, courtyards and meeting rooms of each member are open to the others.

  9. Art. 09

    Twelve seats, no more.

The group grows by choosing well, not by adding.

  10. Art. 10

    Friends need no shares.

Partners can sit at the table through joint work alone.

  11. Art. 11

    Each month has a host.

One studio a month opens its doors, invites the table and publishes one thing.

  12. Art. 12

Culture is part of the work.

Talks, books, exhibitions and teaching count as work, and are planned as such.

The table

Twelve seats around one table. The threads across it are work the studios do together.
